[Android] Settings

To open the app settings, tap Settings at the bottom of the main screen:
The Settings menu contains these sections:
  1. Databases — manage databases and access Database operations for the selected database (see the article Database operations).
  2. Security — configure security options, such as auto-lock and biometric login (see Security).
  3. Preferences — adjust interface and search settings (see Preferences).
  4. Appearance — change app themes and lock screen appearance (see the article Appearance).
  5. Autofill — set up autofill for passwords in apps and browsers (see Autofill in apps and Autofill in Chrome).
  6. Auto Backup — enable automatic backups on your device (see Auto backup).
  7. Wear OS — connect Safe with your smartwatch (see Smartwatch).
  8. Erase Data — delete all local data and reset the app (see Erase data).
  9. Premium — manage premium features and subscription (see Premium settings).
  10. About — view app version, support email, website, and privacy policy.
  11. Install on Computer — get a link to download Safe for Windows or Mac.
  12. Import — transfer your data from another password manager.

Security

In Security, you can set up:

Locks

  1. Lock at exit — locks the app when you switch to another app.
  2. Auto-lock — locks the app automatically after a timeout.

Authentication

  1. Fast unlock — unlock with the first or last 4 symbols of your password.
  2. Biometric login — unlock using fingerprint, face, or retina (always remember your password).
  3. Biometric method — select which biometric method to use.
  4. Unlock with PIN-code — use your device PIN to unlock the app.
  5. Hide keyboard — hide the keyboard on the login screen.
  6. Require password every — require entering your full password after several days (prevents forgetting your password).

Self-erase

  1. Password attempts — erase all local data after a set number of incorrect password attempts (cloud data is not affected).

Misc

  1. Allow screenshots — enable or disable screenshots and screen recordings. If disabled, screenshots and videos will be black.

Preferences

Interface

  1. Card’s subtitle — show labels or login as card subtitle.
  2. At login — select what to show after login (cards, labels, or search).
  3. Default database — choose a default database to open after login.
  4. Default label — choose a default label after login.
  5. Favorites at top — show favorite cards at the top of the list.
  6. Hide passwords — mask passwords in view mode.
  7. Show card count — display the number of cards for labels.
  8. Warn expiring cards within — show warnings for cards expiring soon (cards must have an Expiry field).
  1. Search All Cards — automatically switch to All Cards when searching.
  2. Search preview — show found text or card login in search results.
  3. Search by labels — include labels in search.
  4. Search through passwords — include passwords in search.

Browser

  1. Use built-in — use the internal browser for website links.
  2. In paired window — open the browser in a split-screen window.

Icons

  1. Use website icons — download favicons for cards with website addresses.
  2. Clear cache — delete and re-download website icons.

Erase Data

In the Erase Data section, you can delete all local app data and settings from your device and start fresh. This does not affect data stored in the cloud.
ℹ️ Cloud data can be deleted manually from its location (see the article Cloud database location).
